Easter 2011

Our Easter weekend was filled with fun and the celebration of our RISEN Lord and Savior.  On Friday, our SS class had an Easter Egg Hunt in the park.  No pictures...had my camera, but left my memory card at home :(  The girls had a great time.  Gram (my mom) took AB around and Papa (my dad) took Lynnsie around.  Poor Lynnsie, to a kid with peanut allergies finding the eggs is the most exciting thing because we couldn't risk her eating anything because they didn't have the ingredients listed.  Oh, well.

You can see an earlier post, REAL Easter Eggs, to read about another part of our Easter weekend.  We did the Resurrection Eggs 3 or 4 times.  As I mentioned in that post, it was my girls favorite "egg" thing of the weekend.  As it should be, since, Christ's resurrection is the whole point of celebrating Easter.
Saturday afternoon, the girls and I dyed Easter Eggs.  I boiled them on the stove, mixed up the dye, and moved everything we needed outside.  I didn't think it would be the best thing in the world to allow two toddlers to play with dye inside the house.  They had a great time and their eggs made a beautiful centerpiece for our Easter lunch.
Jacob took off of work on Sunday, so we all got to go to church.  AB and Lynns looked absolutely beautiful and I would say that if they weren't my daughters.  Their dresses were given to them by their Nana (my grandmother) for Christmas.  I have been waiting months to put them on!! I was too afraid to even take them out of the closet beforehand for fear something would get on them.  They were both very excited about their new white sandals...which I waited until the last minute to buy resulting in 3 trips to the mall to get the right pair for AB. lol.  As soon as Anna Beth saw her dress the night before, she wanted to put it on.  I told her it wasn't time to put on her "pretty dress", but that she would wear it for church the next day because it was a very special Sunday.  She woke up at 6:30 asking if it was time to put her pretty dress on!!
Gram and Papa let Anna Beth and Lynnsie pick what our Easter lunch was going to be. You wanna guess what they chose? McDonald's.  Yep, our Easter 2011 lunch consisted of chicken nuggets, cheeseburgers, big macs, and french fries.  But you know what, we were celebrating as a family and I really didn't care what we were eating.

It's a typical family picture with two toddlers....
Gram and Papa got a little bit better shot, though.
